About us
From two generals to Kosta Boda Art Hotel
Kosta Boda Art Hotel opened its doors on 27 June 2009, but our journey actually began as early as 1742 when two of Charles XII's generals, Anders Koskull and Georg Bogislaus Staël von Holstein, founded Kosta glassworks and laid the foundation for what is today Orrefors Kosta Boda, one of Sweden's internationally best-known brands.
All the glass in the hotel is produced across the road, at the glassworks, by skilled glassblowers using a craft that has remained the same for almost 300 years. Today, the hotel and the glassworks are owned by the stock-listed New Wave Group, which is a long-term and strong owner. The hotel features art worth approximately 52 million SEK, and our concept includes everything in the hotel being for sale, both art and furniture; we therefore function as a living gallery for Kosta Boda art glass.
Together with proud and dedicated staff, we want to offer you as a guest a complete experience with elegant and personal service in a setting that leaves no one untouched. Where the good things in life, well-being and beautiful art in a wonderful symbiosis create opportunities for both creative meetings, relaxation and memories for life.

Designrum
All rooms are uniquely designed by Kosta Boda designers and equipped with air conditioning, minibar, coffee maker, safe, telephone, toilet, bath or shower, hairdryer, wake-up service, ironing facilities, and bathrobes and slippers. There are three different standards of hotel room: the Art Room, which is our standard room; the Art Deluxe Room, featuring a sofa bed for extra sleeping space; and the Art Experience Room, which represents our most luxurious rooms.

Designers
The hotel is designed by Kosta Boda's world-renowned designers. Seven of Kosta Boda's well-known designers were given the opportunity to design Kosta Boda Art Hotel. The result was an explosion of colour, form and a sparkling tribute to Swedish art glass!
