Kosta Boda Art Hotel

Environmental policy

We work to promote sustainable development in society and constantly strive to review our routines and awareness. Here you can see what we are doing to conserve nature's resources.
Kosta Boda Art Hotel works to promote sustainable development in society and awareness of global environmental issues and our potential for direct and indirect environmental impact. We strive to offer products and services that, while maintaining quality, have been produced with the minimum possible environmental impact.
We shall continuously improve our work in energy, water, resource consumption, chemical and waste management to reduce our environmental impact. We work systematically to inform employees and guests on how to conserve nature's resources. Through clear routines, information and evaluation, we increase our competence in environmental awareness and make everyone involved in the environmental work.

Waste is sorted at source and managed in such a way that it takes up as little space as possible during transport. We provide charging points for electric cars. We are implementing water-saving measures in the hotel rooms; the washbasins have a water flow rate of 3 l/minute. The water flow rate from the showers is 9 litres per minute. In the spa area, 80% of the pool water is recycled; the 20% that needs to be topped up is heated using the heat from the water we drain off.

Some examples of how we work to contribute to an improved environment:

  • Locally produced and KRAV-certified are what we at Kosta Boda Art Hotel strive for in our choice of suppliers.
  • We sort food waste, combustible waste, soft plastic, glass, bottle banks for recycling, wood, cardboard, chemicals, electronics, metal, land disposal.
  • We recycle empty glass and PET bottles.
  • We avoid single-use materials in our operations to the greatest possible extent.
  • We recycle Dagens Industri by donating them to Kosta Glasbruk, which are subsequently reused in glass production.
  • We make it easier for our guests to contribute to environmental improvements by encouraging them to limit the amount of towel laundering in their guest rooms.

Environmental objectives

Our group, New Wave Group, has a vision of sustainable growth where business solutions are not only financially beneficial, but also sustainable from a social and environmental perspective.

For us, it is about working for the long term and balancing economic aspects with environmental and social ones in every decision, big and small. Good economic growth and a sound economy are prerequisites for being able to influence and drive sustainable development. At the same time, we are convinced that the reverse also applies – that sustainability leads to innovation, new business and a profitable business model in the future too.

We want to work towards sustainable development that maximises our contribution to globally agreed sustainable development goals, creates long-term value for the group and at the same time takes into account the expectations of our stakeholders. A central part of this work is actively spreading knowledge and information to create awareness regarding sustainable consumption and sustainability aspects in the production of textiles and other goods. In this way, the group can contribute to the global development goals while simultaneously ensuring a good dialogue with customers and the group's other stakeholders.

Risks are an unavoidable part of New Wave Group's operations and constant adaptations are required to live up to consumers' growing demands for increased transparency and sustainability considerations, as well as changes in legislation.

Our ambition is to constantly be at the forefront and what makes the biggest difference is how we conduct our everyday operations. Therefore, we have three focus areas linked to our core business: sustainable products, sustainable production and sustainable transport.
