MASTERCLASSER

Masterclass – Col d'Orcia

Welcome to an exclusive masterclass where we delve into Col d’Orcia, one of Montalcino’s most historic and prominent wine estates. Led by Davide Talotti, you will be taken to the heart of Tuscany to discover the history, terroir and craftsmanship behind some of the estate’s most characteristic wines. The history of Col d’Orcia dates back to the 18th century and since 1973 the property has been owned by the Marone Cinzano family. The vineyard is situated in the beautiful Val d’Orcia, where the vines grow on slopes around 450 metres above sea level. The proximity to the sea and the cooling breezes create a climate that gives the grapes excellent conditions to develop both elegance and complexity.

Masterclass – glassware tasting

Does the glass really matter for how wine tastes? Yes – and during this exclusive masterclass you will get to experience the difference for yourself. We will taste four grape-typical wines – Riesling, oaked Chardonnay, classic Pinot Noir and grape-typical Cabernet Sauvignon – alongside four classic, mouth-blown glasses from the Orrefors Difference series: Crisp 46 cl, Mature 63 cl, Rich and Primeur. Each wine is tasted in the glass developed to elevate that specific wine's character. After that, we taste the same wine in a glass that is not optimal for the grape variety. How do the aroma, taste and experience change? Which characteristics emerge – and what happens when the glass does not suit the wine?

2.45 pm – 3.45 pm

Beer and gin tasting – discover the flavours of Kosta

Join us for a flavourful tasting session where we explore both beer and gin from Kosta. During the tasting, you will try three of our own Kosta beers – Glasrikets Lager, Kosta Tradition and Kosta Pale Ale – and discover how taste and character differ between the various beer styles. We will also tell you about the brewing process and what influences the taste of the beer. After that, it is time for gin. We will taste our two award-winning varieties, Hyttgin and Kosta Kristall, and you will also get to taste an exciting product that is still under development. We will taste the gin neat first and talk about how it is produced and which flavours characterise the different varieties. Then we will taste it together with tonic to discover how the flavours change.
