From two generals to Kosta Boda Art Hotel

Our journey started in 1742 when Kosta Glassworks was founded by two of Karl XII’s generals who laid the foundation for what would become one of Sweden’s best-known products – Swedish glass.

Kosta Boda Art Hotel opened its doors on 27 June 2009, but our journey really started back in 1742 when two of King Karl XII’s generals, Anders Koskull and Georg Bogislaus Staël von Holstein, founded Kosta Glassworks and laid the foundations for what is now Orrefors-Kosta Boda, one of Sweden’s internationally best-known brands. All the glass at the hotel is produced on the other side of the road, in the glassworks, by skilled glass-blowers with a craft that has remained the same for almost 300 years.

Today, the hotel and glassworks are owned by the New Wave Group, which is quoted on the stock exchange, a long-term and strong owner.

The hotel has art worth approx. 5 million EUR, and our concept includes that everything in the hotel is for sale, both art and furniture. We therefore serve as a living gallery for Kosta Boda’s art glass.

Together with proud and dedicated staff, we want to offer you as our guest a complete experience with elegant and personal service in an environment that leaves no one untouched.

Where the good things in life, well-being and beautiful art in a nice symbiosis produce opportunities for creative meetings, relaxation and memories for life.

A warm welcome to us at Kosta Boda Art Hotel!

Kosta Boda Art Hotel is cashless.
